Why Algarve!?

Why should you choose Algarve to go on vacations?

For those who have not yet been in Portugal, Algarve and have doubts about where to go on holidays, here I present some photos that may help you decide your next vacation site.

Algarve is situated in south Portugal and it has unic characteristics, such as culinary, architecture sun and beach.

The most typical food is based on fresh fish caught by algarvian fishermen such as sea-bass, sole fish, sardines, clams and many others. You may have it simply griller on charcoal with butter sauce with some fried potatoes on olive oil and algarvian salad or you may chose something more elaborated such as a fish cataplana.

Our architecture is unique, it has influence of Moorish (Arabic) architecture due to their conquest of, nowadays Portuguese and Spanish territory, over ten centuries ago. With light roofing, most of the houses show a white façades with very typical chimneys. The option of white colour is made due to the very hot summer in Portugal. In Algarve average temperature is 30 ºC in summer.

Algarve is situated in south Portugal, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, with blue and green Mediterranean water, white sand, and most beaches show these marvellous cliffs typical of the Mediterranean cost. Historically it was the last portion of land, that the Portuguese troops at 1000 a.c. conquered to the Muslim armies before they were expelled to north Africa.
